Vidarbha thrashed Meghalaya by an innings and 259 runs in their last Group E League match at the VCA’s Civil Lines Stadium in Nagpur on Tuesday. Vidarbha thus finished their league campaign with 29 points in their kitty but will have to wait for the results of the other matches before they know whether they have qualified for the knock-out phase.
Meghalaya, who were 18/4 overnight, resumed their second innings on Day 3 and lost three more wickets to be 44/7 before Kevin Christopher (90) and skipper Ram Gurung (32) stemmed the rot with a 98-run stand for the eighth wicket.
Kevin was the last man out, dismissed by Harsh Dubey who picked up his sixth wicket of the innings to finish with match figures of 11/ 99.
