Vidarbha Senior Women’s team annexed the Chhattisgarh Cup Invitational T20 Tournament that concluded in Raipur on Monday (Sept. 29, 2025).
They defeated Tamil Nadu by 7 wickets in the final played at the Veer Shaheed Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur.
Vidarbha bowlers first restricted Tamil Nadu to a mere 106/6 in their 20 overs before skipper Disha Kasat and Riddhi Naik set up a splendid victory with a 97-run stand for the opening wicket. Disha made a fine 73 before retiring as Vidarbha coasted to victory with 5.4 overs to spare.
Disha’s 73 came off 38 balls with five boundaries and six sixes. She was adjudged the Player of the Match.
It was a fine start to the season for Vidarbha senior women’s team under Head coach Nooshin Al Khadeer.
Vidarbha, in fact, topped the league table with 16 points, winning four of their five league matches. They defeated hosts Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Bengal and Jharkhand. Vidarbha’s only loss was against Tamil Nadu in the league stage and they avenged that in style in the final.
Disha, who emerged as the top-scorer with 249 runs, was adjudged the Player of the Tournament. Disha also hit the maximum number of sixes (15) in the tournament.
Mona Meshram, who accumulated 174 runs, was adjudged the Best Batter.
Komal Zanzad was Vidarbha’s most successful bowler with 12 wickets.
