Mr Pavan Halavane of the Vidarbha Cricket Association has topped the BCCI umpires’ examination 2025.
Mr Halavane, who hails from Akola, earned a cumulative score of 147.5 and was placed No.1 on the merit list out of 141 candidates who took the examination.
Only top 26 on the merit list were declared “passed” by the BCCI.
Another VCA umpire, Mr Vikrant Deshpande also made it to the BCCI panel by securing a cumulative score of 130.
But VCA umpire Shashank Manwatkar was unlucky to miss out after finishing 27th with a cumulative score of 129.5.
In the BCCI Match Referees’ examination, VCA’s Soniya Rajoriya and Nama Khobragade finished second and third, respectively, on the merit list.
Ms Rajoriya who was the head coach of Orange Tigresses team which won the inaugural VPTL title in the women's section, scored an impressive 83.5 out 100 in the examination
while Ms Khobragade accumulated 81.5.
