VCA Cricket Academy

Vidarbha Cricket Association in its endeavour to promote and develop quality cricket among juniors has set up a Cricket Academy from June 2009. The academy is housed at its Civil Lines facility and prides to have the best cricket coaching infrastructure. The primary motive of the academy is to spot and develop local talent at the initial grassroots level and help develop the talent with correct techniques.

The coaching or training is not just limited to Nagpur city, but all across Vidarbha. It is one of the best cricket academies in the country with the facilities such as of indoor air-conditioned cricket arena, state of the art sports gymnasium. qualified trainers conduct Fitness Tests for all trainees throughout the state during the camp. The students have access to an exhaustive library, recreational area, swimming pool etc. Outstation student can also avail hostel room facilities with in-house dining. The facility also has guest rooms for outstation/visiting experts and coaches.

Academy uses all modern techniques such as Pitch Vision which assists in tracking the bowler’s key performance indicators (KPI’s). It tracks the bowler right from run-up till the ball reaches the batsmen. Additionally, dedicated video analyzing methods are also used systematically to suggest technical improvements to a particular player. Resident physiotherapists and trainers train the students and also guide the coaches in avoiding or handling injuries to the players.

A lot of ex-crickets, national players and other sports personalities visit the academy and guide players with their experiences.

Aim of Cricket Academy is :

  • Develop, Promote and Foster excellence in young cricketers.
  • Uphold the spirit of cricket through tough competition and fair play.
  • Provide an additional path for identifying talented cricketers.
  • To allow selected young cricketers to experience the standards expected of a higher level cricketer.
