Elections were held for the three posts of Senior Selectors of the Vidarbha Cricket Association on Sunday, December 8, 2024 --- the second day of 90th AGM of the cricket body.
There were four candidates --- Mr P Vivek, Mr Jayesh Dongaonkar, Mr Sudhir Wankhede and Mr Yogesh Ghare --- in the fray for the three posts.
The Election process was conducted by Mr J. S. Saharia, the appointed Election Officer and former Chief Election Commissioner of Maharashtra.
In total 615 ballots were cast by the Members on Sunday. After the counting of votes, the following 3 candidates were declared elected by the Election Officer:
Mr P. Vivek (secured 606 votes)
Mr Jayesh Dongaonkar (secured 607 votes)
Mr Sudhir Wankhede (secured 610 votes)
The fourth candidate, Mr Yogesh Ghare, secured only 10 votes.
Candidates for all other posts, including those of the VCA office-bearers, were declared elected unopposed.
