Vidarbha are all through to the knock-out stage of the Senior Women’s One-Day Trophy by winning five of their six Group D League matches. The Vidarbha team crushed Goa by nine wickets in their last league game to finish with 20 points from six matches.
However, with Uttarakhand also winning against Hyderabad, they have 16 points from five matches. If Uttarakhand win their last match against Maharashtra, they will also finish on 20 points, but will top Group D as they had beaten Vidarbha in the league stage.
In such a scenario, Uttarakhand will go straight into quarter-finals, while Vidarbha will have to play a pre-quarter-final. However, if Uttarakhand lose their last game, Vidarbha will go through to QF as group top-toppers.
At the Nehru Stadium in Guwahati on Friday, Vidarbha dismissed Goa for a mere 70 runs. Komal Zanzad (3/8) and Kanchan Nagwani (3/9) once again did most of the damage with the ball.
Vidarbha lost the wicket of Shivani Dharne early but captain Disha Kasat (37 not out) and Vaishnavi Khandkar (34 not out) saw the team home in 15.5 overs.
