VCA’s historic decision to pay monthly pension to Women Cricketers of
Vidarbha.
In a historic decision taken by
the Executive Committee of VCA in its meeting dated 17.11.2022, the committee
decided to grant monthly pension of ₹10,000/- to Women Cricketers who have
represented Vidarbha till 2016-17 season.
It is pertinent to note that BCCI took over activities of Women cricket
in June 2006. However, women players had
been playing various tournaments before 2006 and in recognition of their
services to Vidarbha Cricket; they also have been included in the pension
scheme. President Mr. Adwait Manohar was
instrumental in initiating this pension scheme for women for which the women
cricketers have appreciated his gesture.
It was also decided to enhance the pension of Vidarbha Men Cricketers from ₹5,000/- to ₹10,000/- per month.
