VCA News: Ankita Guha - First BCCI female umpire from Vidarbha.

Former senior women’s team player Ankita Guha has become the first BCCI female umpire from Vidarbha. Ankita, who took up umpiring after retiring from the game, cleared BCCI’s Level 2 umpiring exams for retired players with flying colours.

Ankita scored 128 marks out of a possible 150 in the exam conducted by the BCCI in Ahmedabad in June, 2023. She had cleared the VCA state panel exams last year.

Ankita, who represented Vidarbha from 2002 to 2018, will attend a BCCI orientation programme and seminar to be held next month in Ahmedabad.

Ankita is likely to be assigned match supervision duties in BCCI women’s tournaments in the ensuing cricket season.
